Anonymous Content Policy

Effective Date: April 1, 2026

1. Purpose

This policy explains how Six Stories Deep handles anonymous stories — what anonymity means on our platform, what protections you have, and what limitations apply.

2. What Anonymity Means on Six Stories Deep

When you post a story anonymously:

  • Your name and profile picture are hidden from all other users
  • Your story appears credited to “Anonymous”
  • Comments you leave on your own anonymous story appear as “Anonymous Author”
  • No other user — including other authors — can identify you as the writer

3. What Anonymity Does Not Mean

Anonymity is a display feature, not a legal shield. Internally, we store your userId linked to every anonymous story you post. This means:

  • You can always edit or delete your own anonymous stories
  • Our moderation team can identify and act on policy-violating anonymous content
  • In the event of a court order or legal requirement, we may be compelled to disclose the identity behind an anonymous post

This approach is consistent with Nepal's Individual Privacy Act, 2075 (2018), which permits disclosure of personal information during criminal investigation or under court order.

4. Editing Anonymous Stories

You may toggle anonymity on or off at any time by editing your story. If you remove the anonymous flag, your real name and profile picture will become publicly visible on that story. You will be prompted to confirm this action before it takes effect.

5. Abuse of Anonymity

Anonymous posting must not be used to harass, defame, or harm others. Stories reported and confirmed to violate this policy will be removed, and repeated abuse may result in account suspension regardless of anonymous status.

6. Reporting Anonymous Content

Any user may flag an anonymous story for review. Our moderation team reviews all flagged content and takes action based on our Terms of Service.
